The author of “The Surfer’s Guide To Marketing”, Randy brings more than 15 years of experience in marketing, promotions and multiplatform activations working in sports and entertainment.  His new book features informative marketing strategies, proven tactics and case studies, interviews with some of the most successful business owners, entrepreneurs and creative minds, and  integrates everything via a humorous approach set against the world of surfing.

Currently, Rovegno serves as the founding partner at LONGBOARD Marketing where he creates award-winning dynamic promotions and marketing campaigns across on-air, on-site, digital, social, mobile, and guerrilla initiatives for some of the largest content companies in the world including ESPN, ABC, Sprint, Disney, NFL, and more.  Prior to building multimillion dollar agencies, Rovegno worked as Director of Marketing for Fox Cable Networks where he oversaw marketing efforts for a portfolio including FOX, Fox Sports Net, FX, National Geographic Channel, Speed Channel, Fuel and more.

The creative specialist has developed award-winning consumer and B2B campaigns that have earned Product-Of-The-Year honors, 12 MARK Awards, multiple Pro Max nods, ADDYs and more.  He has championed marketing initiatives for some of the country’s largest spectacles including Super Bowls, Hollywood Red Carpet premieres and a portfolio of celebrities and athletes including Jerry Rice, Michael Jordan, Drew Brees, George Lopez, and Wayne Gretzky.

The native Californian is a graduate of Arizona State University, where he earned a B.A. in communication. He is a longtime resident of Redondo Beach and his passion for surfing should not be judged by his far too frequent wipeouts.

SURF’S UP!

Welcome to the site for the author of “The Surfer’s Guide To Marketing.”  Randy Rovegno has over two decades of successful marketing experience working on brands including ESPN, ABC, FOX, AT&T, NFL, Upper Deck, and more.  As an avid surfer and sports and entertainment executive, Rovegno speaks to various corporate partners and major universities about marketing strategy, real-world case studies, and navigating today’s marketing landscape utilizing his unique portfolio, experience, and humor to motivate tomorrow’s marketing minds.

After stints in various CPG and consumer marketing groups and in a key role with a boutique agency that he quickly developed into a multi-million dollar business, he founded LONGBOARD Marketing in 2008.

As a creative executive challenged with developing novel and successful campaigns for the most dynamic, savvy sports and entertainment clients in the world, Rovegno must constantly utilize creativity and unorthodox tactics to drive the products or brands he works with.  It is based on the various challenges and successes from his award-winning career that motivated him to write this book and demonstrate some of the favorite tricks of the trade.
